Our History
In 1985 many salons were loud, chrome embellished and painted black and white. Christopher Hopkins dreamed of creating comfortable, peaceful and professional environment where people could realize their ultimate image. From hair, to make up, to personal style that resource was realized in the Christopher Hopkins Salon. Founded in 1990 with a $5,000.00 line of credit, his perm rods and his cutting shears, the company opened in the KSTP Studios' Hubbard Building in St. Paul, Minnesota. The diminutive space consisted of three styling chairs, one make up stool, a manicuring table and a shampoo bowl. It was a leap of faith.
In exchange for rent, the Christopher Hopkins Salon team created and maintained the looks of the KSTP on air talent. A regular spot doing makeovers on "Good Company", a popular daytime talk show, garnered the team recognition across the state. Word spread and the Christopher Hopkins Salon flourished.
